For the first time, I drove my family through the legendary Da Trang Pass to reach Moc Chau during the plum blossom season. To truly touch this land, we traded four wheels for a motorbike, wandering through the misty valleys.

Ho May Garden: A Soulful RetreatWe found our sanctuary at Ho May Garden. At this stage of my life, having stayed in places ranging from luxury resorts to rugged campsites, material comfort is no longer my priority. I crave a feeling.

The host here gave us exactly that—her warmth and hospitality made us feel like old friends returning home rather than mere tourists. There’s a magic in the January mist. Sitting on a red wooden chair on the balcony, sipping hot tea and coffee while the fog blankets the valley... in that moment, I realized something.

After 12 years of chasing happiness in far-off horizons, it turned out happiness was sitting right next to me all along.Wealth on Two WheelsCarrying my little child on a motorbike through the highlands is an entirely different world. No car windows to separate us from nature. Just the crisp, cold air, the scent of wild grass, and the pure joy of seeing white plum petals resting on my shoulders.

At times, the mist was so thick that the ancient plum trees appeared like ghosts from a cinematic masterpiece. We rode slowly—not out of fear, but because we wanted to soak in every bit of this wild beauty. In Moc Chau, plum blossoms don’t just bloom on branches; they bloom in the traveler's soul.Traveling to Find Peace, Not ConquestTwelve years ago, I traveled to conquer. Twelve years later, I travel to feel.

Moc Chau in January 2026, to me, is the white of the flowers, the blue of the mist, and the red of the wooden chairs at Ho May Garden. This trip wasn't about checking off famous landmarks. It was about pauses—letting my child observe local life and letting us, the parents, breathe slowly away from the hustle of work.If you, like me, are tired of the glitz and glamour, bring your family to Moc Chau. Rent a motorbike, find a cozy homestay, and just drift with the clouds. You’ll see that Moc Chau is never old; it’s our hearts that are being renewed.

The Ultimate Hanoi - Da Nang Road Trip Experience

A 6-DAY, 5-NIGHT HANOI - DA NANG ROAD TRIP: AN 800KM JOURNEY (For new drivers, female drivers, travel lovers with neck and shoulder pain, and those who love to explore but need plenty of rest) This is a journey I once thought... I would never be able to accomplish, as I always assumed my physical stamina had its limits. Even though I’ve supported room bookings and provided travel information for many clients on their cross-Vietnam trips for years, this was the first time I actually tried driving such a long route myself. Covering a total distance of about 800km over 6 days from Hanoi to Da Nang, I stopped at 5 main locations primarily to re-survey the resorts and restaurants I usually recommend to clients for their North-to-South road trips.
